Looking For Signs Of Spring Ltd Ed Print
Image 25 x 34 cm, With Frame 47 x 58 cm (framed)
Looking For Signs of Spring is an evocative, signed limited edition giclee print by the acclaimed East Anglian painter, Dee Nickerson. Finished in a soft white mount and slim black wood frame this print comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Dee Nickerson is a contemporary figurative artist who creates works in a contemplative, illustrative style. She grew up on her parents’ farm in South Norfolk, later studying art at Great Yarmouth College of Art and Design. She now lives in the Waveney Valley on the Norfolk-Suffolk border.
Dee’s subjects are drawn from the walks she takes in her bucolic surroundings (sometimes accompanied by her cats). She is a great observer of environment, human interaction, and body language. Her paintings, predominantly in acrylics, utilise restricted colour palettes often in jewel-like autumnal tones, or ethereal wintry monotones. Her works are produced in small ‘collections’, often with a unifying theme of colour, pattern or incident that act almost as a journal of time, place or event. She celebrates, elevates and mythologises the prosaic, the intimate, making every day acts such as sweeping leaves or knitting into moments of quiet, mindful reflection.
As well as being an internationally successful artist, Dee has also been commissioned to produce album artwork, and illustrated the children’s book ‘Dara: the wild rabbit that lived with humans’.
