New York at 60: Dreaming It

Deborah Larne

Encaustic wax on wooden board (framed)

68 x 68 cm

This piece has been created using the encaustic wax technique. This process involves heating pigmented wax blocks (usually beeswax) into a liquid or paste depending on how much the blocks have been heated. The wax is then applied to the wooded surface using palette knives and brushes. Many layers can be added and built up on the wooden surface. It can then be reheated and sculpted to create the final piece.
