Printmaker Carol Nunan knew from an early age that she wanted to be an artist and has a passion for colour, texture and the endless possibilities of printmaking.
Based in her Northumberland studio, Carol draws inspiration from the skies and landscapes around her and Northumbrias’ rich history – from Hadrian’s Wall and the Romans to medieval castles and the shoreline as well as the wild flora and fauna and the geology of the Whin Sill.
Carols’ work is predominantly collagraph or reductive monotype printing, both of which create a unique hand made printing plate as the basis of each print. Each print is a voyage of discovery as no two will ever be quite the same.
Carol believes that art and creativity are essential to our health and wellbeing and along side her practice runs printmaking courses to pass on her knowledge.
