Rowena’s ceramic work is a celebration of the natural world informed by her daily observations, travels and life in her coastal hometown of Brighton.

Rowena enjoys the duality of mixing precision with playfulness; many layers of clay slips are built upon in a highly controlled manner, whereas the bold markings etched into the surface and the brushed glazes are added with impulsivity and freedom.

Rowena graduated from the University of Brighton in 2002 with a BA Honours Degree in Three Dimensional Crafts, choosing to major in ceramics. She has exhibited in many galleries and recent awards include being a Selected Guild Member in The Sussex Guild of Professional Designer Makers in 2016 and being selected as a Ceramics finalist in Craft&Design Magazine in 2011 and 2013.
